Model Of The Month

The "Model of the Month" is where BoyKid Hobbies recognizes one special modeler's efforts for exemplary craftsmanship.

This month's "Model of the Month" is:

1969 Camaro (Revell) Z-28 - Gloss Brite Blue

Great kit to build!  Everything lined up great.  It took a month and a half to complete.  I only worked on it Tuesday nights, here (BoyKid Hobbies) in the back room, except for one 2 hour burst of ambition at my dining room table.

- Scott Walker, Ascutney, VT.

The images you see below represent only a few of the models that are on display in the store.  More pics will be added here soon.  Then next one could be yours!

Glencoe Models, Japanese Infantry

They were pre-molded, so I didn't have to glue them.  I liked that.

Though I initially had low expectations as to the quality of the model due to the moldings, they came out very well.

Dragon Winter Germans

Some problems with the fit, but other than that, it went together well and painted easily too.  I didn't air brush them, though that would have been a good idea.

- TJ Liveston

Willy's Drag Car

This was a really good kit!  It went together with absolutely no problems.  You didn't have to force anything together.  Just and all together smooth kit and I built it in less than a week.

1965 Corvette - Bill "Muggsy" McGraw

"Muggsy" built his factory stock 1965 Corvette into a race car and raced at Lime Rock Raceway from the late 60's to late 70's, where he held the lap record in 1974. Among many other modifications, he installed a 454ci V8 engine; more than enough muscle for a two-seater!

John attributes his love of race cars to "Uncle Bill's" influence in his life.

This model, which earned several trophies (pictured here), was built in honor of that race car and Bill McGraw.  He is part of the history of BoyKid Hobbies.  He was grandma's oldest son, the original "BoyKid".

Although Muggsy passed away on April 19, 2007, his legend, both on and off the track, lives on.
